Great Expectations

Charles Dickens was an English novelist and social critic. All his novels focus on major social issues in Victorian England. Great Expectations is the story of Pip, a young boy who wants to rise from poverty to a high social life. The novel shows the growth of Pip through a series of bitter-sweet events, which mould and remould him and ultimately teach him the real meaning of happiness.
