The War of the Worlds

H. G. Wells was an English writer who is remembered mostly for his science fiction novels. He is also known as the father of science fiction (along with Jules Verne and Hugo Gernsback). The War of the Worlds is a novel about a Martian invasion on Earth, which threatens to destroy it. The three-legged fighting machines from Mars wreck havoc, destroying military units and people. With the Martians in total control, mankind looks at its possible extinction.
