Bharathi as a poet

As a Lover of Tamil, Meenakshisundaram, the author of this book became a Tamil Scholar in his early stage. He who graduated in Mathematics, in his post graduation in Tamil
stood first and secured the Annamalai Chettiar Memorial Prize in 1950.

In 1957, while in service he researched the poetical works of Bharathiar in the same university and got the qualification of M.Litt. and he won the Ph.D. on the Contribution of European Scholars to Tamil, in the Madras University in 1965 while
in service.

Meenakshisundaram was born on 11-7-1925 in an agriculture family at Vellakinaru, a small village, Coimbatore district.
Since 1969, he has worked not only as professor and H.O.D. Tamil but also as Principal in various Govt. Arts Colleges.
Besides these, he had worked in many Extra Departmental Services including a member of Syndicate of the University of Madras and other universities.

Even after his retirement, he successfully served in many honorary services in the field of education.

Further he has authored 20 books (2 in English and 18 in Tamil) and more than 100 articles on Tamil literature and rendered many convocation addresses and keynote addresses in Conferences and Seminars.

He has been given several awards for his services. FINALLY A NATIONAL AWARD vivekananda National Aaward for excellence was given by Ramakrishna Vidyalaya.
