This book, written with the similarities and relevance between Marxist and Ambedkarite ideology in mind, examines the historical contexts in which these two ideas emerged; takes into account the social status and contribution of religion and caste. When discussing class-caste relations, it examines the differences between ancient and contemporary contexts, and the class and caste interests embedded in the identity politics being discussed today. It is with this aim in mind that this book sharply emphasizes the need for a dialogue between Marxism and Ambedkariteism.
